What a year 2018 has been for us at itris! We’ve had a busy year, as has everyone else, with GDPR coming into effect and the uncertainty of Brexit. However, the recruitment industry’s total turnover has increased by 11% which is great news for recruiters and suppliers alike. Since we’ve had another successful year, we thought we’d share with you some of our highlights from 2018!

Winning Recruitment Blog of the Year

The year started in the best way possible for us when we scooped up the UK Recruiter Recruitment Supplier Blog of the Year 2017 Award in January. It was an incredible achievement to win an award for the content we work so hard on and to be up there with some other impressive blogs.

Recruitment Agency Expo

As we have done for the last five years, we packed up our bags and headed up to Olympia in February for the Recruitment Agency Expo. As always, it was a busy couple of days but a great opportunity to network with clients, old and new, as well as other suppliers and industry experts and showcase our recruitment CRM.

New Cube19 integration

In March we launched our integration with cube19 to enhance our reporting functionality and deliver easy to understand, real-time, actionable insights to our clients. It’s free to use as long as you have an account with cube19 so please just get in touch with our account managers if you’d like it set up.

GDPR and our Data Management Consent Tool

May was the month we were all waiting for when GDPR was due to come into force. It completely took over the recruitment industry and to cater for the new regulation, we developed a data management consent tool to help our clients manage the retention of their data.

Charity quiz night

For the first time ever, we hosted our own quiz night and raffle in aid of one of our local charities, Hospice in the Weald. Despite some tough questions and some funny answers, it was a complete success and we’re proud to say that we raised £1000 for such an incredible cause.

Kicking off our volunteering initiative

This year we have invested a lot more time and resources into our CSR strategy than previous years. We now offer all our employees one day per year where they can volunteer for one of our local charities. In summer we saw a group of volunteers head down to Pepenbury for a day to help out their maintenance and grounds team. Then in October, the remaining employees took a trip to Hospice in the Weald to help create clay flowers for their Forget Me Not Campaign. We look forward to volunteering again next year for any other local charities and getting our staff out the office for a day!

Team building exercises

Interdepartmental communication is becoming increasingly more important to us so we ensure that every year we offer two team building exercises for our staff to get involved in. The first was a race against time at the Escape Hub where our teams had to compete to escape the room in the quickest time possible. The second was a trip down to the bowling alley where we jumbled up the teams again and found out the most competitive people in the company!

Publishing our new training videos

After spending months writing scripts, recording and editing, in November, we published our brand-new training videos. These are for our clients to use whether they would like to brush up on their basic skills or learn more about the temp functionality within the system. If you’d like to find out how you can access them completely free of charge, please email training@itris.co.uk.

Sponsoring the Marketing and Digital Recruitment Awards

For the second year running, we sponsored a category at the Marketing and Digital Recruitment Awards. This year it was ‘Best Marketing Strategy’ where we handed the award out to Rullion. It was a great night and we look forward to the next one!

And that just about rounds up our year at itris! As always, thank you to all our clients and partners and we wish you all a merry Christmas and a happy New Year!
